Whatever people say I am…

What clap trap from the basement of Downing Street, who have put together a memo apparantly entitiled “Blair – The Musical”. Such denial of the truth is beyond parody; I think this is close to Soviet-style personality politics, painting Tony Blair as some untouchable icon of brilliance. This “national tour”, with spots on Songs of Praise and Blue Peter, smacks of a donkey being dragged around in a very real sense of being dead. I believe Blair and his circle of yesmen really do not understand how they are seen in the real world – not trusted, not understood, not believed. He is to resign on May 31 2007 – about as far as I think the nation would have tolerated.
